My Bloody Valentine 3D Official Trailer

Director Patrick Lussier has been working on My Bloody Valentine 3D, a remake of the 1981 Canadian slasher film of the same name. Well no exactly the same name, this new version deserves indeed the additional term 3D to the the title: it will have a 3-D theatrical release. The marketing behind the movie is heavily (over?) promoting the 3D gimmick... It should maybe focus on the plot. My Bloody Valentine 3D is starring Jensen Ackles in the lead cast. It is expected to be released in Mid-January 2009.

Here below the first official trailer of My Bloody Valentine 3D:

The Plot:
"Tom (Ackles) returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine's night massacre that claimed the lives of 22 people. Instead of a homecoming, however, Tom finds himself suspected of committing the murders, and it seems like his old flame (King) is the only one will believes he's innocent." (Source: IMDb)

I believe this remake is faithful to the original movie. But it also seems to have its own originality, with a pace that fits better in our digital era than the older version.

I think that one may enjoy My Bloody Valentine 3D even in a traditional theater. 3D, may bring something to one's theater experience, but it sounds just like a gimmick so far...

Anyway, for valentine’s Day: make love not war! Keep an eye opened in case the slasher would be wandering in your neighborhood though!
